The first decade of the 21st century, going from 2000 to 2009 and better known as the noughties was an exciting one for the motion pictures industry both in Hollywood and internationally.   Indeed it was the decade of the fantastic story telling with the exceptional Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings trilogy and the unique Pan’s Labyrinth, as well as the fast paced cinematography with Brazilian Fernando Meirelles City of God and Chinese styled Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.  Other well established and renowned film directors also made their mark including Roman Polanski with The Pianist, Martin Scorsese’s The Departed, Coen brothers No Country for Old Men and Ridley Scott Gladiator.
