There are numerous lists out there about the best 100 films. Top 100 cult films

At Your Best 100, we have already combined various film lists, including top 100 films of all time, top directors and more recently articles about the top 100 actors and top 100 actresses, however it is the first time we compiled a list based uniquely on how movies are perceived by the general public, regardless of their cinematographic value.  Some movies became a classic by having  a great director exploring an unconventional topic such as ultra violence in Clockwork Orange, or other films such as Clerks, filmed on a very low budget enabled the author to launch his career as the film became an instant hit with the fans.  The Your Best 100 list discovers some of the greatest cult films around the world, that movie fans enjoyed over and over.

Top 100 films of the 90′s

The 90’s was one of the most important decades in film history with plenty of successful masterpieces released at the box office.  From Steven Spielberg war epics such as Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan, to criminal films such as GoodFellas and Pulp Fiction, passing remarkable thrillers such as the Cohen brothers Fargo and Silence of the Lambs, the 90’s offered plenty of flicks to make us laugh, cry and think.  It was also the decade of the remarkable effects and 3D animations with the release of Toy Story in 1995, the first fully entirely computerized animated picture and James Cameron breathtaking Titanic in 1997.

Top 100 films of the noughties

The first decade of the 21st century, going from 2000 to 2009 and better known as the noughties was an exciting one for the motion pictures industry both in Hollywood and internationally.   Indeed it was the decade of the fantastic story telling with the exceptional Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings trilogy and the unique Pan’s Labyrinth, as well as the fast paced cinematography with Brazilian Fernando Meirelles City of God and Chinese styled Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.  Other well established and renowned film directors also made their mark including Roman Polanski with The Pianist, Martin Scorsese’s The Departed, Coen brothers No Country for Old Men and Ridley Scott Gladiator.
